Background: Sidorejo Village is part of the Kajoran Sub-district of the Magelang Regency in Central Java. The village is located 25 km north of Yogyakarta and 86 km south of Semarang. The Magelang regency is known at international level as the residence of Borobudur and Prambanan Temples (UNESCO World heritage sites). Most of the villagers are farmers and the households can mainly be considered as low income ones. Dejavato decided to support the educational development of the children and the youngsters of Sidorejo by supporting the local school and providing different courses (English, hygiene, environmental education, etc). Through this project, the volunteers will support the local development and educational programmes of Dejavato.

Work: The volunteers will renovate school bookshelves (painting, renovating), teach English, and promote personal hygiene.

Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.

Leisure Time: visit the nearby World Heritage sites and temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. You may also do some rafting or visit Yogyakarta city where you can do shopping or visit the Royal Palace

Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in local host families (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed), where they will also receive food.

Location: This work camp will be held in Sidorejo Village in the Magelang Regency of Central Java Province (86 km from Semarang).

Terminal: Semarang airport, railway station and bus terminal.

Extra fee: 160 € (approximately 2.000.000 Indonesian Rupiahs)
