BACKGROUND: In 2006 the city council of San Giorgio a Cremano started a working program with local youth about education for a culture of peace in cooperation with YAP. Schools and local youth organizations were involved in several activities on peace. The city officially supports MDG and No Excuse 2015 campaign. “Figli in famiglia” is a non-profit organisation for leisure, cultural and social activities in the quarter, mainly operating with children and families from the local church.
WORK: Volunteers will be involved in trips and leisure activities at the summer camp organised to keep children off the streets; they will support local workers and volunteers and integrate themselves in workshops and activities.
ACCOMODATION: Volunteers will live in an apartment in the wonderful Villa Bruno, with a kitchen and hot showers available. Self cooking and management. Sleeping bags are required.
