Proect: Sanmaeul High School focuses on outdoor activities and experiences so that students could learn things by doing as various non-formal method such as traditional Korean cultural arts and history, eco-farming, foreign languages, autonomic study, and peace community building. Therefore, school likes to host international volunteers who are able to bring fresh atmosphere, information of country, different cultures and languages, friendship with students. It will be very unique experiences to volunteers who are interested in sharing what you have and open minded to school students.Work:- Joining studentU s classes: Farming (vegetables, working in rice fields), sports ,arts etc.- Joining outdoor activities with students: Swimming, hiking and so on - Leading an English class and supporting English teacher - Joining field trip with students: Visiting cultural and historical sports of Korea- Working from Monday to Friday Volunteers will mainly join eco-farming(raising flowers, vegetables, working in rice fields) at school. Occasionally, volunteers also will do manual work such as fixing school facilities. Since the purpose of the project is to foster the idea of global citizenship within the Sanmaeul High School students, volunteers will lead an after school class once a week upon volunteersU talent or skill such as foreign languages, dance, music and so on. The school want non-formal education way focuses on various topic related with global citizenship(Cultural deference, peace, human rights, sustainable developments.. and so on). Also, Volunteers will join some of classes such as sports ,arts to close with students. While volunteers join various school activities, they could bring intercultural condition and diverse culture into the school.Teaching Information: - Age and Number of students: 17 to 19 years old and 10 to40 students at a School - Number of teachers: 1 or 2 English teachers (They are main communicator with foreign volunteers)

Qualifications of Volunteers:1) Essential qualificationThose who enjoy physical work; farming, manual workThose who are flexible. (Schedule can be flexible) Those who love teenagers2) Preferred qualification - Previous volunteer experience with teenagers- Skills to manage club activities (e.g. music, dance, sports, theatre, etc.) 3) Things to consider before you apply - Am I interested in learning the Korean language and culture? - Am I a person who takes initiative and has an out-going personality? - Am I able to stay positive when faced with difficult situations?- Am I an open-minded person?

Project site is alternative high school. The school focused on eco-farming education, independency, peace as well as foreign languages. In this sense, the school is trying to bring intercultural learning into the school so that students will get a chance to experience diverse cultures.
