Project: For the fifth year running the town of Wissous is hosting an international work camp in collaboration with the association Vir'Volt. This year's camp is exclusively for adolescents and will be made up of volunteers from the local community as well as you, the international volunteers. Work: The aim of this work camp is to create a big fresco for the wall of a covered playground in a primary school of the town. The topic of this fresco will be worked out and decided before by the pupils of the school and their leaders. With young people from the local community, volunteers will be then involved in the design and the painting of this fresco. Leisure Activities: Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet people from the local community and to explore its surrounding areas, including the town's dedicated space for young people. The 14th July is the French national holiday, as such there will be a variety of celebratory events on this day. Otherwise volunteers are encouraged to organise their own collective activities depending on their wishes and the available budget. Accommodation: Volunteers will sleep on mattresses in a local gymnasium. Location: Wissous is situated 15km south of Paris. Closest Train Station: Antony RER Participation fees: 150 for international volunteers and 300 for French volunteers. Note: This project should not be seen as a sightseeing trip to Paris. If participants wish to visit Paris, they should arrive some days before or leave some days after the dates of the summer camp.
