Project: Enchanted by the spirit and dynamism of the participants, Saint Georges du Bois wishes to renew for the third time in a row its hosting of an international workcamp. After the acquisition of new lands, the community wishes to build a pedestrian walkway around the village. Work: Volunteers will participate in the building of this path by improving the area that will allow the path to traverse a creek. Volunteers will construct a stone base in the creek that will support the construction of a wooden bridge. Various techniques will be used in order to bring this about: traditional masonry, sizing of stones, and woodworking. A communal employee will accompany the group throughout the project. Leisure activities: Volunteers will have the chance to discover the region: trips to the ocean, nearby towns, museums, local heritage sites, and the Poitevin marsh. They will also be able to participate in various events proposed by the community and thus be able to connect with the local population. In 2013, various exchanges took place between local youths, the community, and local partners. There will be many occasions for diverse activities and exchanges between local youths and volunteers.
