PARTNER: CHEZ ZELLE is the Youth Centre of Louvain-La-Neuve. Founded in 1990, the centre offers
various activities to the youngsters of Louvain-La-Neuve and its surroundings. Chez Zelle is particularly
active in graffiti culture and is behind several initiatives in the neighbourhood. The youth centre
collaborates with FARM PROD collective, gathering several visual artists around various creative projects,
to organise the third edition of the Kosmopolite Art Tour. This collective, created in 2003, gathers today
painters, graffiti artists, graphic designers, web-designers, illustrators, video makers who organise and
participate together to sociocultural events in Belgium and abroad.
The Kosmopolite Art Tour is an event that gathers a large
diversity of international artists around the creation of
collective wall frescos to bring new life to public space. This
event is characterized by numerous activities creating
intercultural and intergenerational exchanges. The
Kosmopolite festival, created in Paris in 2002, aiming to
promote the richness and diversity of Street-Art, is behind
the concept of «Kosmopolite Art Tour». The first two Belgian
editions took place in 2010 and 2012. The 2015 edition will
mainly take place in Louvain-La-Neuve also with some
activities in Flanders and in Brussels. Besides the creation of
wall frescos, this event will gather about 30 international
artists and many activities such as exhibitions, workshops,
projections, concerts and other activities (break-dance,
skateboard,...)

WORK: Volunteers will help on several aspects of the Louvain-la-Neuve festival logistics, such as meals
preparation for the entire team of the festival, assembling and dismantling of structures, wall preparation
(cleaning, base coat application), stage-managing, installation of barriers, transport and unloading of
material, waste management, help with the management of the artists' residence,...Volunteers will work
with the different teams of the festival (technicians, stage managers, facilitators, organizers, cooks...).
Volunteers will also be integrated in the different teams during the festival which will take place from July
31th to August 7th 2015.
ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will sleep in a collective student housing or in a common room (dorm)
that will be fitted out. Please bring your sleeping bag.
FOOD: Meals will be taken with the various teams of the festival and will be prepared by the volunteers
together with the kitchen team of the festival.
LOCATION : Louvain-la-Neuve (French for New Leuven) is a planned city created in 1972 and situated 30
km south-east of Brussels, in the French-speaking part of Belgium. The city was built to house the
"Université Catholique de Louvain", following the linguistic quarrels that took place in Belgium during the
1960s. Dynamic and cosmopolitan city, Louvain-La-Neuve is a symbolic place to host this king of festival.
The city hosts thousands of students from many nationalities every year. This pedestrian city offers many
advantages such as accessibility and optimal visibility, nice architectural surfaces to paint, diversity of the
audiences, a friendly area for artists' residencies,...
SPECIFIC INFORMATION: This workcamp requires an active participation and involvement of volunteers,
due to the deadlines set for the good progress of the festival. Volunteers are asked to prove a strong interest
for the thematic of the festival.
Please bring good working shoes and clothes that can get dirty as well as a raincoat in case of rainy
weather.
A project-related motivation letter is required.
