Tokushima

1. Summary: Dance hard, work hard! Massive tourist needs your help for ferrying!
2. Background: Organized together with NPO, ‘Bizan Daigaku’ since 2014. Tokushima prefecture has one of the
most popular festival colled “Awa Odori festival”. Also in summer an activity along “Shinmachi
river” is loved by local people. They want to activate this town though having local events with
volunteers.
3. Work: Prepare and support for local event “Awa Odori festival” with local people to activate the area.
Volunteers will support the local group that organizes local ferry services which many tourists
make a long quene for. Also volunteers will help local activity which is held along local river.
We will clean up the river.
4. Accommodation: Local empty house in Tokushima city. Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns. Sleeing bag
is necessary.
5. Study theme: Volunteers will get chance to interact with energetic local people who want to activate the
small city.
6. Other activities: Awa Odori Festival, Exchange parties, experiencing Japanese culture, etc
Tokushima city, Tokushima pref.
7. Location: Takamatsu (3 hours by train). You need to arrive at Takamatsu airport by 10:00 on 10th and can
leave there after 17:00 on the 17th. If Kansai airport (5 hours by train), you need to arrive by
07:00 on the 10th and can leave there after 21:00 on 17th.
9. Requirement: Positive attitude to working hard, communication with Japanese local people
