1. Summary: Providing social participation opportunities to youth in the affected areas of reconstruction.
2. Background: Organized together with some local groups and HSBC since 2013. A giant earthquake occurred in
Tohoku in 2011 Mar. that caused unprecedented damage. NICE has been organizing the special
workcamps there to revive the disaster areas. Since 2013, we have a special program for 60 high
school students to provide the volunteer and on-the-ground business experience at the postdisaster
area. Our objectives is A) Growing friendship, mutual understanding and solidarity
among youth, B) Fostering global point of views and intercultural learning among youth and C)
Supporting the revival from the disaster in Tohoku
3. Work: Youth will get the opportunity to have a business experience in the camp. They will visit local
business actually exist in Rikuzentakata. They will make a PR document in English and Japanese
for the online sales. We will help out and live together with 60 Youth (15-18 years) in the camp
supporting activities and sharing your business experience.
4. Accommodation: 1. Local Temple house. Simple self-catering. Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns. Share
room. 2. Local Hotel. Simple self-catering. Foods are all provided.
5. Study theme: Disaster area visit and getting know the disaster damage prevention
6. Other activities: Local exchange party
7. Location: South east edge of Iwate prefecture (very near from Miyagi). Forestry, agriculture and fishing
are used to be the main industry, but were severely damaged and may take several years to be
rehabilitated. From Tokyo, 7 hours by bullet train or 10 hours by bus
8. Terminal: Tokyo (7 hours by bullet train or 10 hours by bus. You need to arrive at Narita airport by 19:00 on
the 1 day before the first day and can leave there after 19:00 on last day.)
9. Requirement: Your business experience and skills are required. Analysis, Coaching, Computer and Marketing
etc. The Motivation letter is required!!

11. Language: English (Japanese is also welcomed!)
