With the support of one of Concordia’s technical leaders, as well as of the RNP of Vercors’ eco-guards, you will participate in different tasks to protect the heritage. The works in the chapel will be defined during the spring. Concerning the walkway, you will work for its enhancement (vegetation clearing, cleaning, putting up signs, planning…).
You will be accommodated in Les Pins camping, which allows you to stay in a lodge (converted barn). Plan to bring a warm sleeping bag and a thick floor mat. The lodge is equally equipped with a kitchen, tables, and benches where you will be able to eat together. You will also have access to a sanitary block (showers, toilets, dish pans, and basins).
The group will be supervised by two camp leaders, a common life and a technical leader. Together, you will participate in the organisation of collective life (cleaning, activities…) and you will cook in turns using products which will be bought nearby. We will favour local products, as well as short supply chains. Tastings of local products may be organised with local producers.
Vassieux-en-Vercors (about 300 habitants) is a municipality located in the Drôme département in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region. Benchmark of the Resistance during the Second World War, the municipality remembers its past mainly through the Resistance Memorial in Vercors. The surroundings equally offer numerous visits to caves, and you will be able to discover remnants from ancient times thanks to the Prehistory Museum. The municipality also develops various outdoor activities, including different hiking routes and orientation trails.
Think about bringing gloves, as well as clothes and shoes which you don’t mind getting dirty. Don’t forget your sleeping bag! Bring suitable clothes in case of rain and for hiking (sweaters, jumpers, raincoats…). Hiking shoes will be useful to discover the region. Don’t forget sun protection (caps, sunglasses, sunscreen…) and a swimming suit. Convivial times will be programmed in conjunction with our camp leaders and depending on your desires. If you wish to share a bit of your own culture (food recipes, traditional stories, peculiar objects, music…), don’t hesitate to take a small piece of your country with you!
