TURN WASLALA SPACE UP SIDE DOWN

Project:

Waslala Space it’s the local office and ART EDUCATION SCHOOL that Waslala Youth Associations runs in the city of Alcobendas – Madrid

The space was giving to us by the local community many years ago due to our social intervention in the city of Alcobendas. It’s been 10 years of action in the centre of Alcobendas running workshops, dance and music class, music studio and international projects. Waslala offer the space to local population to develop different things and we now strongly believe it is time now to turn up side down the school by organizing a workcamp for the renovation of the space.

During this Project volunteers will be directly involved in the renovation of WASLALA SPACE doing task such as painting, cleaning, fixing things around the school in order to improve the quality of our service. Nevertheless participants will be involved as well in different workshops related to what the WASLALA SPACE offer to local population such as dance, drumming and sports.

WASLALA SPACE is a big space with 2 floors where you can find international office, dance and multifunction space class, two music studios and a chill out space where people can read or use wifi for free.

The workcamp will end with an OPEN HOUSE event where volunteers will have the chance to show up with the new design of WASLALA SPACE and as well to have a direct interaction with local population.

During the Project volunteers will have the opportunity to meet local authorities and as the different bodies which with whom we been cooperating for many years such as IMAGINA YOUTH CENTER, ALCOBENDAS YOUTH COUNCIL and the Mayor for Socio- Cultural events.
