The Centre is situated not far from the center of Yerevan, next to the artificial Lake Yerevan. The territory of the Rehabilitation Center is former Governmental rest house. This project is connected with Russian culture and language and its aim is to open an international Russian-speaking workcamp near the center of Yerevan.
Volunteers bring a lot of ideas, spirit, love, warmth, kindness and make the stay of these children in this Center a great holiday. They make these children feel that they are needed, full-valued and help them to reveal their talents and abilities.
Work:
Volunteers will organize free time activities for the children and their mothers, will teach them basic words and phrases, songs in Russian, and organize variety of recreational activities with children - quizzes, contests and games. Volunteers will watch the masterpieces of world animation - cartoons of the Soviet period, children's songs from cartoons (almost all children in Armenia know, to some extent, choruses of these songs).
Volunteers are also to implement ecological work, such as maintaining the territory, cleaning children’s playground from weeds and grass, painting and some renovation work. At the end of the camp volunteers and children will organize a farewell concert with dances and songs which they learnt during their stay in the camp, as well as songs and dances of countries the volunteers come from.
Volunteers will visit places connected with Russian and Armenian culture.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in a separate comfortable cottage on the territory of the Rehabilitation Center and sleep in beds.
Special requirements: Volunteers are to read methodic literature about work and special games for disabled children. They are also asked to bring different games and face-paint for the work with the children. The camp requires a strict discipline.
