Volunteers will help organize a summer camp for 50 children aged from 6 to 12 who come from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. They will prepare meals for the group and will have the opportunity to propose activities together with the social workers leading the camp.Volunteers will spend the first two nights in Brussels to meet the animation team and decide about the menus for the camp. They will then go to the camp location which is about a 2-hours drive from Brussels. A camp preparation will take place on August 12nd and 13th and the children s camp will take place between August 14th and 25th.
In a dorm within the lodging house. Please bring a sleeping bag and a pillow if you need one.Meals will be prepared by the volunteers for everybody in the kitchen of the lodging house.
Volunteers will spend the first two nights in Brussels to meet the animation team and decide about the menus for the camp. They will then go to the camp place which is about 2 hours away from Brussels. The camp will take place in Louette-Saint-Pierre (Gedinne), a small village in the south of Belgium, close to the French border.
A basic level of French is expected as activities will take place with children who don t speak English. The camp will take place in a very isolated area and work is quite demanding because meals have to be ready every day at regular hours. This workcamp is destined for motivated volunteers, who like spending time with children and who are willing to interact with them.A project-related motivation letter is required.Volunteers will have to respect the regulations of the camp.
