Volunteers will take part in different renovation activities around the farm among which : dismantling of the roof of the henhouse in preparation for building a new roof, digging trenches in order to prepare the lagooning process, cleaning up two lofts (in the cottage and the barn) in preparation for a reception room. Some tasks will be also related to the regular activities of the farm: apples and/or potatoes harvesting (depending on the season progress), maintaining the orchard, cutting and collecting wood, feeding the animals, collecting the eggs, renewing the animals litters,... Volunteers will be divided between a cottage, a room related to this cottage and a caravan. Please bring a sleeping bag.A warm meal will be prepared everyday by Chantal, the manager of the farm. The rest of the time, volunteers will prepare themselves the meals using organic food from the shop within the farm.
Dorlou Farm is located in Wodecq, a beautiful village close to the commune of Ellezelles, that belongs to the nature park Land of Hills in the west part of Belgium. It is a new workcamp, and it is destined for volunteers who love nature and animals. The farm is quite isolated. Please bring good working shoes and clothes.
