Descripción:
Volunteers will be charged with various tasks linked to technical areas and scenography. They will work together in the construction and assembling of tents, decoration of sets, the arrangement of artists and teams living space, and the loading, unloading, and transport of materials. During the festival, it will be possible for volunteers who desire so to be integrated individually in a team with a specific function (e.g ticket office, the bar) on condition that the volunteer asks in advance. The festival will take place from the 8th to the 12th of May 2013.Visits to Namur and the surrounding areas, as well as other activities, will be planned by the host organization during the workcamp. If volunteers wish to visit some other parts of Belgium, they should free some time either before or after the project as they will not have time during the workcamp.Approximate planning:- Thursday 2/05: arrivals and welcoming of volunteers- Friday 3/05 and Saturday 4/05: visits and activities in the surrounding areas- Sunday 5/05: visit to Namur, meeting with the teams- from Monday 6/05 to Thursday 9/05: assembling the festival - from Wednesday 8/05 to Sunday 12/05: festival- from Sunday 12/05 to Wednesday 15/05: taking down the festival- Thursday 16/05: volunteers departure
Volunteers will sleep in an ideally located building situated in the heart of the city center, a 5-minute walk from the train station, and just next to the office of les Arts Forains . Beds will be provided as well as showers and toilets. Volunteers should bring a sleeping bag.Meals will be taken with the different teams of the festival from the 6th to the 13th of May and will be prepared by the catering team of the festival. The rest of the time, volunteers will have to prepare their own meals in a kitchen provided for them.
Namur is the capital city of Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium, and has about 111 000 inhabitants. It is located at about 60 km from Brussels.
This workcamp is destined for motivated volunteers who are highly interested by the theme. For the one who want to visit Brussels or another city of Belgium, they need to foresee some time before or after the workcamp because there will be no time during the workcamp.
