THIS PROJECT…
L’Inc’Rock BW Festival first took place in the municipality of Incourt in 2005. This festival has grown over the years and is welcoming ever more people: it has acquired an international reputation. That is the reason why this festival is an event you cannot miss in Wallonia since it gives a hint of what summer festivals will be!
It will take place over three days. Those will be three days of music on three stages (one outside) with more than 40 concerts. There will be rock, urban, hip-hop and French music as well as new groups. Moreover, it will give a predominant place to artists from Wallonia and Brussels. World-famous artists will also perform. In addition, a firework show, a VIP area and a camping site will be organized.
ACTIVITIES…
With more than 10,000 people in three days, the area of the festival can get very dirty. So three days before the festival starts; volunteers are going to help set up stands, tables, gates, and so on. During the festival (from May 4 to 6), volunteers will enjoy the festival and will stand behind the counter and serve beers or food. You could also stand in front of the stage to secure the area. After the festival (from May 7 to 8), you will clean the area. You will collect and recycle the waste. You will discover how a festival is organized.
Volunteers are young people (18-35 years old) who want to work outside and live in camping tents. You have to be flexible and enthusiastic. Most important, you must love music!
TO THE POINT…
- Dates: from 30th April to 8th May 2018 (this year) – next available in 2019
- Type: music festival
- Max volunteers: about 5 volunteers
- Accommodation: During the first part of your work (to set everything up) and the last one: you will sleep inside a building (Espace Corlier). During the festival, you will sleep outside in tents. Do not forget to take warm clothes and everything you need to sleep/shower etc.
A camping site is booked for the volunteers. It is well located. There are showers and toilets. You need a flashlight, toilet paper, a towel, a basic medicine kit, earplugs… You will not always be able to take hot showers. You need to bring all the things that might be useful because you will not be able to buy anything during your stay!
- Working language: Able to communicate in French or English
TO KNOW…
- Food: all meals are included. For the first part of your work (set everything up) and the last one: meals are included. During the festival: you will receive food tickets.
- Clothing: Boots or hiking shoes (you might not want to take nice shoes because you might get VERY dirty). Don’t forget, everything will take place outside.
Work clothes (for the construction work), and comfortable clothes (for the festival). Summer clothes AND winter clothes because it can get warm or cold! Volunteers need to bring clothes that dry fast because if you get wet, you might have to change clothes several times a day. If you think about bringing clothes that dry fast, you will not end up with only wet clothes left.
- Material: If you are sensitive to noise, you can bring earplugs. They might be useful because it gets very noisy during the festival.
