Project: The Sunshine Volunteers of Beijing University of Technology is a group in charge of all the volunteer activities within the University. Since it was found in 2001, they have organized nearly 500 national volunteer activities, including culture and education, helping the disabled, large events service, protecting the environment.
Work: Volunteers will participate in extracurricular activities for primary school students to teach English and the customs and cultures of other countries. In detail it means: organize a two-week English "training booth" for the elder residents and kids living in Panjiayuan Community (Chaoyang District, Beijing); set up open-fair in municipal squares to display multiculture dancing by doing interactive activities. The time of work will be 25-30 hours per week.
Accommodation: will be in student dormitory (public bathroom and shower) on the campus.
Meals will be taken at the campus cafeteria.
Location and Leisure: The camp is located in Bejing directly, at the University Campus.
During the camp volunteers will be visiting some of the most splendid museums and monuments in China. Volunteers will communicate with the children of migrant workers.
Series of Chinese learning course are provided. They also will have a chance to discover traditional Chinese cusines and its production with native Beijiingers.
