• Construct earth houses and terraces for the village
• Plant and harvest fruit and vegetables in the village garden and other farm work
• Other duties assigned by the local staff
• Organize cultural activities/sharing with other volunteers and local villagers
Grocery shopping and meals will be prepared by the workcampers. Fresh vegetables will be provided from the village garden. A cooking and cleaning schedule will be arranged at the beginning of the workcamp, and workcampers will take turns with cooking and cleaning chores.
Simple and basic accommodation is provided. Male and female will be separated. Workcampers can bring their own sleeping bag if they are not used to sleeping on traditional Chinese mats. Tents are available for workcampers who wish to camp. Workcampers who wish to camp will need to bring a sleeping bag.
The project is located in the outskirt of Hangzhou City. Attractions in the area include West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou, Nanxun Ancient Town, Thousand Island Lake, Tianmu Mountain and Xixi Wetland Park.
