Work: A volunteer will have various chances as below within the school. - Joining studentU s classes: Farming (vegetables, working in rice fields), sports ,arts etc. - Joining outdoor activities with students: Swimming in the valley, hiking and so on - Leading an English class and supporting English teacher The studentsU level of English is basic or intermediate. - Joining field trip with students; Visiting cultural and historical sports of Korea - Working from Monday to Friday Since the purpose of the project is to foster the idea of global citizenship within the Gokseong Peace High School students, volunteers will run English conversation class (Basic or intermediate level) with non-formal education way focuses on various topic related with global citizenship(Cultural deference, peace, human rights, sustainable developments.. and so on). Volunteers are asked to help English teachers as well. Also, you will be asked to join hiking, farming, swimming with students joyfully since the school is very much focused on Uoutdoor activityU . If you are enjoying outdoor activities and being easily closed with teenagers, this is your place. Volunteers will join some of classes such as sports and arts to close with students. Volunteers will have unique experience with students if actively involved with their daily life as friends with music, sports, arts and so on. Teaching Information: - Age and Number of students: 17 to 19 years old and 10 to40 students at a School - Number of teachers: 1 or 2 English teachers (They are main communicator with foreign volunteers)

No shops nearby. But itU s very beautiful and healthy place. You may visit the bigger city nearby during a weekend by local bus.Extra activities: The students may invite you to join them on field trips, such as hiking, rafting, or visiting other areas of the country during a weekend.
Qualifications of Volunteers:1) Essential qualification Those who can actively join outdoor activity with teenagers Those who can communicate in English2) Preferred qualification - Previous volunteer experience with teenagers- Skills to manage club activities (e.g. music, dance, sports, theatre, etc.) - Those who have teaching experience or are interested in teaching.(Especially with non-formal methods)3) Things to consider before you apply - Am I interested in learning Korean language and culture? - Am I a flexible person? - Am I able to stay positive when faced with difficult situations?

Project site is alternative high school. The school focused on eco-farming education, independency, peace as well as foreign languages. In this sense, the school is trying to bring intercultural learning into the school so that students will get a chance to experience diverse cultures. The student in alternative school has a big chance to feel great nature surrounded by beautiful mountains in rural area.
