Roles of LCC:-Protection: Guidance for daily-life, nutrition (meal providing), staying until parentU back from work -Education: Help of homework, teaching schoolU s subjects (English, Science etc) -Entertainment: Provide various activities(travel, sports, music, arts, picnic etc) Those above are a main job of volunteers to do at an LCC.Work: Teaming up with Korean volunteer, they will organize and manage cultural and educational afterschool programs such as English language classes and various outdoor activities. The students in the Local Children Center (host organization) are mainly elementary school students - with a few middle school students - and normally stay at the center from 2PM and until around 9PM. Any activities and ideas are welcomed by the host organization as long as they provide the local children with opportunities of cultural exchange. The local children are very open to new programs and are very interested in learning different countries. Volunteers work from Monday to Friday (from 2 to 9 pm, mostly).Teaching Information:-Age and Number of students: 8 to 16 years old and 10 to30 children at an LCC-Number of Teachers: 1 to 3 teachers

Qualifications of Volunteers: 1) Essential qualificationThose who have teaching experience or are interested in teaching.(Especially with non-formal methods)Those who can communicate in English Those who are interested in teenagers and socialized with them. 2) Preferred qualification - Previous experiences related to music or theatre - Previous volunteer experience with children- Skills to manage club activities (e.g. music, dance, sports, theatre, etc.) 3) Things to consider before you apply - Am I interested in learning the Korean language and culture? - Am I a person who takes initiative and has an out-going personality? - Am I able to stay positive when faced with difficult situations?
