Descripción:
The work will include landscaping, clearing and tidying up green areas and objects of local importance, some renovation jobs in villages of Jarvamaa and Viljandimaa County, mainly in the villages of Imavere and Kasukonna. The work will be mainly physical, indoors and outdoors. The working day is 5-7 hours, 5 days a week. Work will be done under supervision of local technical leaders. Local young people will be joining international volunteers for work and leisure.
Volunteers will stay in one room of the community house building, sleeping on the mattresses on the floor on sport mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag and pillow. Toilets and showers are available as well as kitchen with necessary equipment for cooking. There is also a washing machine. Volunteers will have to make meals on their own from the ingredients provide by the local host.
Imavere lies in central-Estonia where the main road (Tallinn-Tartu) turns to Viljandi. Distance from Tallinn is 110 km, from Tartu 80 km, from Viljandi 50 km and from Pilistvere 12 km. You will visit local Milk Museum and learn to make own butter and ice cream. Also visit to the ostrich farm is foreseen. It is planned to visit some towns of Jarvamaa and Viljandimaa Counties. This camp is absolutely suitable for people who enjoy rural life and want to learn more about history and culture of Estonia staying right in the heart of it
Volunteers should be interested in rural life, be ready to participate in the discussions about rural development with the local young people. It will be appreciated if volunteers can tell about national voluntary schemes and youth work for the benefit of the local development in their own countries. As the work may be physical sometimes, volunteers should be in a good physical shape.PARTICIPATION FEEDue to unfortunate lack of communal resources for this camp we ask participants to contribute 50 Euros each towards the costs for local transport and leisure activities. This fee has to be paid by volunteers upon arrival to the camp.
