Because of the huge amount of work that needs to be done for the sheep every day, some of the cleaning and organizing jobs have been left aside. Recently farm has grown spreading to the neighbouring land with its few buildings which stay in not a good shape, so cleaning of these buildings is really needed and help of volunteers will be very much appreciated. There will be also some gardening and mowing. Work will be supervised by local hosts. The work will be 6-7 hours a day, 5 days a week, mainly outdoors.
The accommodation will be either in tents or in a hayloft. Please bring your sleeping bag. A toilet and a shower are available. There is a kitchen with necessary cooking equipment. Meals will be usually cooked by hosts, but sometimes volunteers might have to cook for themselves in shifts.
LocationThe project is located in Tarvastu parish, Raassilla village, 20 km from the Town of Viljandi, which is situated in South Estonia on Sakala Upland. Town of Viljandi with its 20,000 inhabitants is the centre of the county. As a culture town it is well known for its valued Culture Academy, Ugala Drama Theatre and the famous international Folk Music Festival held yearly. It is very lively in summer. Viljandi lies 160 km from Tallinn, 98 km from Parnu and 80 km from Tartu. You have to be ready to adapt to the simple conditions of the common life in the country side of Estonia and be willing to do farm work, which can be hard sometimes. Volunteers with special dietary needs are also welcome, yet they have to be ready to cook sometimes for themselves
