Descripción:
The volunteers will work on the Bengtsar Island by refurbishing and doing maintenance such as hay cutting and woodwork. The island is an environmentally protected area so the work will be done in ecologically friendly methods. Volunteers will also have a possibility to get to know Finnish culture and the capital city because the first and the two last nights will be spent in Pakila Youth Centre in Helsinki. The international volunteers will work alongside Finnish young people.
The accommodation for the first night will be at the Pakila Youth Centre, the next six nights volunteers will stay at the camp island Bengtsar and the final two nights they will be back in Pakila. On the island, volunteers will sleep in tents. All the food will be provided by the Youth Centre and there is also a possibility for barbequing at the camping site.
The camp island Bengtsar is an island outside Hanko. It is about 100 km from Helsinki. The island is environmentally protected area and it has a very varying nature. It is situated in the inner archipelago of the Gulf of Finland. Pakila Youth Centre is situated in northern Helsinki. The organizer will arrange transportation between Helsinki and Bengtsar.
There is an extra fee of 90 euros. The volunteers need travel insurance for the duration of their stay.
