Work in this area will consist of helping in renovation of the culturally important public buildings such as the youth association building designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto as he lived his childhood in Alajarvi. The volunteers will also have the change to plan and perform theatre plays for the elderly locals and children by visiting them in rest homes and schools/daycare centers with local volunteers. Volunteers with creative talents and passion for performance arts are warmly welcome. For free time there are plenty of possibilities to play sports, i.e. baseball, cricket, football.
Depending of the size of the volunteer group shared accommodation in a club house or host families. The host will provide ingredients and the volunteers will cook for themselves.
Alajarvi is a small town between Seinajoki and Vaasa in Southern Ostrobothnia.
The volunteers need to take a travel insurance for the duration of their stay
