We invite you to continue the work that started 2 years ago on this beautiful edifice! The church of Cazaux is listed as a historical monument of France. You will handle the renovation of a buttress and a facade of the church St Pierre de Cazaux. Accompanied by a true stonemason, you will help cutting and positioning missing or damaged stones as well as repairing the joints by using traditional techniques. All of these things will be done with the support of the local community.
You will be staying in a nice room in a building typical to Gironde region with a beautiful view and access to toilets and showers. You will have to contribute to collective tasks such as cleaning and preparing food. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of meals using healthy and local products of high quality.
Located in the south-east of the Lot-et-Garonne Department, only a few kilometers away from the city of Agen, Laplume offers both urban and rural highlights. Besides recreational and sporting activities, you can also discover the historical heritage and beautiful landscape of the region. On Thursday evenings you will be able to not only enjoy the gastronomic features of this region at the local gourmet market but also listen to concerts meanwhile.
Bring a warm sleeping bag and mat, working clothes and shoes, also clothing fit for colder and rainy weather, a flashlight as well as a bathing suit and sunscreen for swimming in pool in the afternoon.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
