You will participate in the renovation of the washhouse. It will have to be cleaned and made functional again. To do so you will learn techniques of traditional masonry, consolidate the damaged parts and rebuild the destroyed parts in order to preserve the village’s heritage and history.
You will be accommodated in tents in pairs, boys and girls separately (bring your own sleeping bag). You will have access to cooking facilities. Volunteers will share the different collective tasks and prepare the meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leaders; volunteers will participate in the grocery shopping and the preparation of meals, using healthy and local products when possible.
Listrac-de-Durèze is a municipality in the south-west of France, located in the department of Gironde. You will find several walking trails that cross the different monuments of the region and places where you can taste local products. Due to its proximity to Bordeaux, you can seize the opportunity to visit this beautiful city. Trips to the ocean are also possible.
Bring a warm sleeping bag, some work clothes, comfortable walking shoes, warm clothing and rain gear, a flashlight, a swimsuit and sunscreen.
If you want to, you can also bring musical instruments, recipes, games and/or specialties from your region or country.
