You will participate in the rehabilitation of the connection between the mill and the river. Your task will be to clear it from weeds, to consolidate and strengthen the walls of the channel and to rebuild the destroyed parts. You will be supervised by a technical camp leader who will teach you different traditional methods.
Volunteers will be accommodated in tents. You will have access to sanitary facilities, a kitchen and a collective living room with a beautiful view over the surrounding countryside. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare the meals together. A budget will be allocated to the camp leaders; volunteers will participate in the grocery shopping and in the preparation of meals, using healthy and local products when possible.
Isle is a commune located in the department of Haute-Vienne in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The inhabitants of Isle enjoy an exceptional living environment. Nature is present everywhere. In the city center there are flowery gardens, green spaces and leisure facilities right next to shops and local services. Walk for a few minutes and you will see the well-preserved rural areas of Isle, shaped by the two valleys of Vienne and Aurence. Wooded areas, clearings and farms mingle with the many castles and mansions of the commune; you can experience this while enjoying the urban dynamics offered by the city of Limoges that is only 5 minutes away.
Bring a sleeping bag, work clothes, walking shoes for work, clothes for rainy and cold weather, a flashlight, a swimsuit and sunscreen.
