Satisfied with the previous editions, the municipality of Ségur will organize this summer its fifth international workcamp. Located in Aveyron, this little charming town decided to receive international volunteers to help to renovate the center of the village and to organise the national finals of the competition Shepherds Dog. The population and the municipality are expecting to share good moments and great exchanges with you.
work
Supervised by a municipal employee and elected officials, you will work on restoring the heart of the village and the improvement of people’s lives. In a first time, You will participate on Fountain Square with various restoration works of local heritage (calade fountain for example). In a second time, you will work in landscaping (trees, shrubs and flower plantations) in various areas of the city: the church square, trails schoolchildren ...
accomodation and food
You will be accommodated in an old school. The bathroom is located in another place, 5 minutes away from the dormitories. You will cook in a kitchen with a fridge and a cooking place; dishes and kitchenware will be provided. Mattresses will be provided by the association Jeunesse et reconstruction. Bring your own bed sheet and sleeping bag. We cannot pick you if you arrive before the start of camp. Located between the two most important cities of the Aveyron “département”: Millau and Rodez, the town of Ségur, crossed by the Viaur river, is a charming village. The town has remarkable architectural heritage such as its high located church. Ségur is located in the center of the Levézou region, known for its lakes, its cultural inheritage. Nowadays, it is also known for its many wind generators. In your leisure time, you can visit close by waterfalls, lakes or go hiking. Surroundings of Ségur, you can organise trips to Roquefort caves, Laissac market, micropolis museum, viaduct of Millau, medieval castles etc.
