WORK: You will work on two different historical sites in Poleymieux: the ancient hermitage and a mill, known as Ampere’s mill, both in ruins which the town’s council wants to bring out. Leaded by a professional, who has already supervised many international workcamps, you will do some clearing and cleanup (!! you may carry heavy stones!!). You will also help by little masonry work for consolidating the remaining walls.
ACCOMODATION: Under tents, on the ‘petanque’ ground (kitchen, showers and WC near the camp). Jeunesse et Reconstruction will provide you with ground mattresses; please don’t forget your bed sheets and sleeping bag. The meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves, in teams of 2. Accommodation at your own expenses if you arrive before the starting day of the workcamp

LOCATION: Poleymieux au Mont d’Or is a town with more than 1200 inhabitants, located in the “massif du Mont d’Or”, 6km far from North Lyon et 13 km far from the center of Lyon. In spite of the beginning of urbanization, the village preserved its rural character.
