Project : This is the second workcamp taking place in Albias. This lovely village was built in the 13th century, on the shore of the Aveyron river, in the heart of the region's farmlands. A national road, connecting the famous towns of Montauban and Cahors, dating from the 18th century crosses the village. The centre, made of brick and stone buildings is being renovated by the municipality. You'll be welcomed by a dynamic and motivated municipal team, as well as friendly inhabitants who will guide you in the village, to discover its heritage, its park on the river shore, and its summer events. Work: The work will consist of several tasks in various local buildings and along the Aveyron's riverbanks. You will restore the presbytery's pannellings, clean and paint the church and temple's front doors, paint the temple's brick floor and refurbish the church's bell tower. Deadwood and detritus will also have to be removed from the Aveyron's banks so that walkers can enjoy this natural place. A couple of retired masons will help you on these tasks partly based on the village's Christian heritage. Leisure activities: You will take part in the summer events such as open-air movies and the July 13th public dance. You will be free to enjoy the natural parc located near the river. Popular options will also consist of hiking, and canoeing. On a cultural side you can also visit Montauban and its famous Ingres Museum or the medieval villages of Penne and Bruniquel. Meetings can be organised with the Leisure Center to create an interactive presentation of your countries of origin. Sharing with the inhabitants is also an important part of the experience. Accomodation: in collective rooms in the presbytery, where you will have access to a kitchen and a garden. Showers will be taken at the nearby stadium.
