Project: Enchanted by hosting an international workcamp in 2013, the community of Taillebourg wants to repeat this experience and add an intercultural dimension to the local level. The workshop will take place at the village castle (listed as a French government building). The volunteers will work on the restoration of a part of the castle ramparts. Work: Continuing the previous year's work, volunteers will reconstruct a wall of the castle ramparts. A technical overseer will accompany the volunteers throughout the project and will instruct them in the techniques of traditional masonry including the repointing and sizing of stones. Moreover, the volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a medieval show proposed by the community and produced by the Company of Minstrels of Taillebourg county. Leisure activities: Volunteers will be able to enjoy the cultural activities of the region. Excursions will be organized as moments of exchange with locals: national holiday of the 14th of July, visit to La Rochelle, trip to the ocean...
