Project : Senouillac is a charming little village located in the Tarn province at the very heart of the Gaillac vineyards, near the ancient pastel road where the unique pastel blue was worldwide known by all painters until the 16th century. Not so far from Toulouse and very close to Gaillac, Senouillac is situated in a historical area where Gallo-Roman and medieval vestiges can be admired. The village especially enjoys a beautiful 14th century castle in a near-by hamlet, where a traditional washing place has been partly restored by a previous group of international volunteers last year. This summer, a new workcamp will take place in the village in order to continue the rebuilding of this lovely place. Work: You will continue the restoration of the washing place that was started last year. You will have to secure the access by increasing the height of its retaining wall. You will dig out the path, lay paving stones and put a guardrail all along the exterior. Then, you will also work on the little church to restore the facade's joints. All these works will be led by a very dynamic and enthusiastic retired mason, who is also a wine-grower. Leisure activities: Aside from the working time, you will have the opportunity to hike along the many trails around Senouillac and to discover the regional renown heritage. Culinary art, archeological sites, typical red brick buildings, bridges and mills and medieval villages are all around you. You will take part in the Gaillac Wine Fair and in the local market (March de Pays). You will have the possibility to visit the Mauriac Castle, where the famous painter Mr Bistes lives and exhibits his paintings. Also you will meet the local inhabitants who will be pleased to welcome you and to show you around. Accommodation : in tents of 6 to 8 people at the village's stadium, with all facilities available.
