Project : Espinas is a small hamlet located in the Cvennes mountains, in the heart of Cvennes National Park. The town is traversed by the mountains' crests, which creates a large cattle migration pathway in the direction of Mont Lozre. The municipality of St Andol de Clerguemort purchased the town fifteen years ago, at which time it had been abandoned and left in a state of ruin. Today this is a lively place of exchange where you can find a caf bistro and a dry-stone masonry training location. The community hosted an international workcamp last year, which was focused on the clearing away of ruins and the construction of a dry-stone wall. This year, the town, along with local associations, wants to concentrate on the improvements of the site and of the chestnut orchard in order to make them accessible to everyone: families, senior citizens, people with reduced mobility. In order to make this happen, improvements must be made to the self-guided trail, with footbridges accessible to strollers, wheelchairs, and seniors, as well as improvements to rest areas and points of information about local traditions. Work: You will be working on the pathway surrounding the chestnut grove and constructing footbridges, benches, chairs, and ramps, all in wood. You will be pruning shrubs with handsaws and pruning shears. You will build plessis barriers (woven from chestnut branches) and you will be able to direct artistic creations: landscaping, percussion trees, and other more playful improvements... Leisure activities: You will be able to take advantage of your free time by discovering the natural riches and local traditions of Cvennes and Mont Lozre, go hiking, go swimming in the Luech river, and take part in local events... Location : Espinas, St Andol de Clerguemort, 40km from Als, 40km from Florac Accommodation : in tents, at Espinas Closest train station: Gnolhac
