Project: Chouppes is a small village of 750 residents that regularly hosts international workcamps. Enchanted by the idea of hosting their first international workcamp, the community is thrilled to be giving this new experience a try. The village wants to increase its population's awareness and understanding of the local environment where numerous birds migrate yearly. Certain spaces are recognized and protected as bird spaces by the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds). The goal of this project of 9km is to put in place observation points and explanatory posters all along the path. Work: As a local heritage project, the community wishes to create a path accessible to pedestrians on bikes. The volunteers will work on the improvement of this path. The group will have to clear and clean the future path and make it accessible to pedestrians. They will also be involved in the renovation of a stone bridge on this path. They will be instructed in traditional masonry techniques by locals. Leisure activities: Volunteers will be able to take advantage of their free time by discovering the region and participating in local celebrations of surrounding villages. Several excursions will be proposed by the residents of the village. Volunteers will have the chance to meet up with local associations with whom the activities will be organized (concerts, walks by the seaside, visits to local towns, visits to museums). Accommodation: collective, indoors Location: Chouppes, department of Vienne, 43 km from Poitiers Nearest train station: Poitiers
