We are going to organize English speaking action-based learning sessions (playsessions) for less-opportunity rural kids. The first three days will be preparation and teambuilding. Getting to know each other, local volunteers, leaders of Tanodas, setting house rules, practicing how to prepare and run playsessions, froming groups. From Monday till Friday in the mornings (9 a.m. i 14 p.m.) the volunteers go in 4 different Tanodas and play with the children aged between 6-14. In the afternoon they plan and prepare for the next day with the support of youth workers from Egyesek. We will also give workshops for the volunteers in order to enable them to use different tools and develop in occupying active kids. The focus in this year will be on using media (video camera, photography) as an educational tool during the playsessions. We involve Hungarian speaking local volunteers who supports in translation. Transportation will be done by car and by bike. On the last three days we are going to evaluate and close the project and organize international open event.We pay special attention to the personal development of the volunteers, we support their learning process in order that they develop those skills and competencies they want to. The workshops, the initial training and the group-coaching meetings are designed for this and are led by qualified trainers.-28-30 June i (Friday-Sunday)Preparation, teambuilding, practicing games, froming groups.-01-05 and 08-12 July i (Monday-Friday)9 a.m. i 14 p.m. Volunteers run playsessions for disadvantaged kids aged between 6-10 in 4 villages. 17 p.m. i 20 p.m. Preparation for the next day, participating in creative workshops (how to use media tools, Hungarian language sessions, game storm etc.), share their experience in mentor meetings-06-07 July i (Saturday-Sunday) Free days. There will be possibility for organized group activity or the volunteers can go individually to visit Hungary.-13-15 July i (Saturday-Monday) Closing of the project. Volunteers live in a community accommodation called Creative Space Training Centre surrounded by the beautiful nature. This is a 3 level stone building with 4-6 bedded rooms which all have its own showers and toilets. You can check the place online: www.kreativ-ter.hu or on Facebook.In the building you can find the kitchen, dining room, common social area and the laundry room. Washing machine, wireless internet, cooking, sport and media equipment, bikes are provided.Cooking will be done by the volunteers with the supervisionof 1 chef. We create a system where the volunteers cook in groups in order to make real international gastronomic experience. Ingredients and equipments are provided by Egyesek. Those who indicated their special diet in the application form will get proper food according to their diet.
The camp takes place in North-East Hungary, in a small village called Holloko which belongs to the UNESCO World Herritage. It is 90 kilometres from the capital, Budapest. Egyesek Youth Association has been working in this very poor region for 10 years. The beautiful nature offers a lot of leisure time activities such as hiking, cycling, swimming, football etc. There a lot of small traditional museums in the village. In the village you can find a market, an ATM, post office.
