A. Background: This is sister project of Cikapundung River Rehabilitation programme. In cooperated with Kabuyutan Sri Sunda and Ekolink (new local partner who preserve the Sudanese culture and Ekolink Bandung, an NGO who concern with environmental issues in Bandung region surrounding. Lack of local people awareness about their environment becomes a problem. This project initiated to support Batu Lonceng Village program to become on of Tourist Village of Bandung Region.
B. Project: This main focus of this project is supporting Kabuyutan Sri Sunda in Cikapundung conservation project in the headwaters of Cikapundung (Batu Loceng Area) and supporting preservation of Sundanese culture (traditional music instruments and martial art).
C. The aims of the camp are: 1. To support local leader in term of promoting Batu Lonceng as the sample of “Tourism Village”. 2. To increase the awareness of local people, and youth to protect their environment 3. To invite local people to do “Urban Planting” (Planting Vegetables in Polybag or other plant media) 4. To develop local people became an entrepreneur by making caramel milk candy 5. To educate local children about the environmental issue and preserving their culture. 6. To exchange culture between participants, local people, and local students. 7. To spread out the idea of voluntary service and international workcamp among the local people.
D. Work: Make Organic Decomposer and vermicompost, Teaching About English and Environment Education, Planting Vegetables in the Local People House, Cleaning the Village with Local People and Invite Them To Care with River Cleanness and Environment Surrounding, Playing Traditional Music Instrument and Learn Martial Art, Charity for Cikapundung Library and Cikapundung River Campaign, and Visiting School.
E. Accommodation: Batu Lonceng Village, Lembang, Host family, sleeping bag and mattress needed, self cooking
F. Special remarks: Feel free to bring some equipment for the students such as map of your country, if possible some toys or book that you do not mind to donate to the school for them to learn, educative toys for children of age 6-13 years old.
