Hirata

1. Summary: Let's create great moment for kids in a reomted area in Japan!
2. Background: Organized together with local group for International workcamp in Hirata. since 2001. Hirata
town is depopulated area in Izumo city and they doesn’t have much chance to have an
international interact, which is important for kids growth. Also number of people who maintain
the environment in this town is getting decreasing. Through this workcamp they hope that
volunteer can activate local people and community.
3. Work: We will have private school for elementary school kids for 3days and plan our international
exchange classes. Also we will cleaning local area such as shrine and beach. We also will plan
international exchange day and invite local people to interact.
4. Accommodation: Local community center. Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns. Sleeing bag is necessary.
5. Study theme: Volunteers will get knowledge of good ways of interaction with kids.
6. Other activities: Exchange parties, experiencing Japanese culture, home stay, etc.
7. Location: Hirata town, Izumo city, About 250 km north west of Osaka. Near the Sea of Japan
8. Terminal: The closest International airport is Kansai international airport in Osaka. From Osaka to the
meeting point
9. Requirement: Positive attitude to communicate with kids.
10. Participation fee: No fee
11. Language: English (Japanese is also welcomed!)
