Ino

1. Summary: Let's work in the forest and play with kids!
2. Background: Newly organized together with local community center in Ino area for the first time. Ino area is
very remoted area in Shimane, and faces the problem of depopulation. Local group is trying to
reactivate this area by inviting people from another area of Japan and even from another
countries. Especially kids here don't have enough experience of international intarect, which
local group think important for kids' growth. During this workcamp, volunteers are expected to
make this area fun!
3. Work: Volunteers wii maintain the trail road in the forest so that local residents can enjoy nature and
local school can have classes for environmental education. Volunteers also have chance to go to
a local school to organize classes for international interact with kids.
4. Accommodation: Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns. Sleeing bag is necessary.
5. Study theme: Volunteers will get knowledge of good ways of interaction with kids.
Izumo shrine, swimming, cultural exchange
6. Other activities: Ino area, Izumo chity in Shimane prefecture
7. Location: Osaka. From Osaka to the meeting point in Shimane, it will take 9 hours by midnight bus. You
need to arrive at Kansai airport by 18:00 on 28th and can leave there after 15:00 on 4th. From
8. Terminal: Tokyo, 6 hours by Shinkansen or 12 hours by midnight bus.
9. Requirement: Positive attitude to communicate with kids, love nature.
