PROJECT
The project will develop a clear understanding of sustainable development in schools and in the rural community of Villa San Cristobal district Jesus of Nazareth in the province Huamanga - Ayacucho region.
During the project, volunteers will be in permanent contact with children and young people developping community work with the residents of the area, sharing traditional Andean ways to enrich their lives by implementing the integration of people with environmental activities, strengthening family ties, allowing thus, to achieve a sense of equality among participants, rural community members, international volunteers, project managers and the district municipality of Jesús Nazareno de Ayacucho.
LOCATION
The Nazarene District, is one of fifteen districts of the province belonging to Huamanga Ayacucho Region, is located at an altitude of 2780 meters. It is located in the region Quechua and has a land area of 17.8 km2.
Villa San Cristobal is a farming community in the district of Jesus of Nazareth, is located 20 minutes from the city of HUAMANGA, and 10 minutes of the district (city with all basic services).
ACTIVITIES:
Volunteers will do some works such as:
- Awareness raising about the environment in schools and in teh community through different activities, painting, drawing, murals, setting up banners in strategic points in the community, etc.
- reforestation work and cleaning of green areas of the community schools, along with students.
- Workshops: English classes for children of the community, and to learn the native language of Peru, Quechua
- communal activities (work together with residents of the area)
- Learn traditional regional dances, cooking dishes of the region.

ACCOMMODATION
Volunteers will be hosted by families in the community of Ayacuho, the houses have the basic services of urban houses but it will be very enriching to live in the same way as the local residents with their cultura and customs.
PARTICIPATION FEE: 200 Euros, This fee will cover the costs of lodging and food, as well as operational and administrative costs of the project.
