The volunteers will be working at the community day-care
centre in Pultusk, helping to conduct a holiday play scheme
programme for a group of 30 children between 6 and 14 years old.
The service, provided from Monday to Friday between 10 AM and 4
PM, includes: games, sports, playground activities, arts and
excursions. In the afternoon the volunteers will also
participate in activities encouraging local youth to
intercultural experiences: Traveller Club and Tandem Meetings.
The volunteers will live in a shared
flat which contains also a kitchen and bathroom, washing machine
is available. The volunteers will have hot lunches provided from
Monday to Friday, whereas other meals will be prepared by them
from products delivered by the organiser.Note: Sleeping bags are
needed
Pultusk, situated on the Narew river (65
km from Warsaw), is one of the oldest Polish towns. It is famous
for the longest town square in Europe but it also has a castle,
gothic town hall and a number of historic churches. Currently it
has about 19 thousands inhabitants and offers water sports
activities (canoeing, boating) and cycling opportunities. During
the summer events such as concerts or happenings are orgnised.
