Volunteers will work for the restoration of walkways in the valley, pruning of neglected trees, rehabilitation of agricultural areas, cleaning and maintenance of the way to Kılıçlar Church, restoration of the ancient remains in the archeological site, cleaning of the grass, and restoration of destroyed walls, cleaning of the walking route, renovation of the info, cleaning of the surrounding, regulation of dangerous pathways, detection of endemic plants in the archaeological site, improvement of dangerous rocks in the valley, rehabilitation and maintenance of the vineyards in Pasabaglari, reassemble of the rocks in the route, construction of non-pass roads.
Volunteers will be accommodated in the fully equipped student dormitories with rooms for 4,6 and 8 people. The volunteers will have the breakfast and the dinner in the dining hall of the dormitory and for the luch they will take lunch boxes. Meals will be prepared by the chef of the dormitory.
Bounded by Kızılırmak in the north, Yeşilhisar in the east, Hasan and Melendiz Mountains in the south, Aksaray in the west and Kırşehir in the northwest, Kapadokya region has been a permanent settlement since the Chalcolithic period. The most important feature of the area, Erciyes Mountain and Hasan Mount tuffs, extraordinary rock shapes as a result of the wind and water erosion, and the carving places that are warm in the winter and cool in the summer carry the appropriate for all climatic conditions and seasons.
Göreme, has become an important center of Christianity by the establishment of Christians who fled oppressions especially between the centuries 7-13rd. Among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites the Göreme National Park, the Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı Underground Cities, the Karain Dove, the Karlık Church, the Yeşilöz Theodoro Church and the Soğanlı Archaeological Site are included.
In their free time, volunteers will visit Cappadocia Area, museums, cultural and natural beauties of Cappadocia; and participate in workshops that the volunteers can benefit from socially.
The working area is under the protection of Turkish Republic the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and on the UNESCO – World Heritage List. Due to the sensitive circumstances of the ares, the volunteers have to provide Motivation Letter, and Certificate of Good Conduct.
