Work: During previous camps hosted by Mut Municipality, a building was restored which later became a cultural centre with the volunteers' help. This year the volunteers will take part in some environmental cleaning and landscaping in public parks. Working hours will be determined with the volunteers. Trips for natural and touristic places, as well as, plateau excursions in the region will be organized as leisure time activities.
Food and Accommodation: Food will be prepared by municipality personnel but volunteers will be responsible for washing their dishes. / Guest house
Location: Mut is a province of Mersin, which is located in Cukurova. It is a village surrounded by mountains and high plateaus. The name of the town rooted from ancient Rome, which was a commander's name. In Turkish when you say you are from Mut, you say 'mutluyum' which is synonymous with 'I am happy', so Mut offers volunteers to be happy. The face of the town is the castle of Mut however there are lots of other options you can visit such as monasteries, mosques and castles. Mut Yerkopru waterfall is registered as a natural monument and volunteers will get a chance to visit that beauty.
