There are so many children, as young as two, selling lottery tickets on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
Families sacrificed their children’ education just to make ends meet. We needed to advocate for
children’ quality of life and their right to an education.CVI is a learning center for disadvantage
children, homeless children, those were born in poor family to have a chance to learn how to read and
write in Vietnamese.Ky Quang Orphanage is run by Ky Quang Pagoda, which was built in the early part
of the 20th Century in 1924. The pagoda is now a place of charity for unlucky children and also helps
treat diseases. Now, the pagoda is taking care and bringing up more than 200 children in the South of
Vietnam. The children here have unfortunate backgrounds as many have been abandoned by
their parents and relatives most of them have suffering from cerebral-palsy, blindness or Down's
syndrome, Agent Orange. We - SJ Vietnam would like to bring little good things
to these community in our society, we would like to share with them the happiness and support their life.
Volunteers will carry out English lesson through different non-formal activities such as games, music,
art, sport, etc for children at learning center. Besides that, the volunteers clean and beautify the
classroom, taking care of mini garden where the teachers plant some vegetable to add in their

Accommodation and food:
Volunteers will stay at the rental room with basic
living conditions. Meals are at local food stores near
Flash light, sleeping bag, prove-water clothes,
raincoat, gifts from your country for host-family, toys
and learning materials for the children if you have.
